Lunar New Year in Singapore comes with a specific kind of pressure. The gatherings, the photos, the relatives with opinions. A month out is more than enough time to get your skin and hair where you want them to be, but only if you are doing the right things at the right time. I put together a week-by-week game plan for Grazia Singapore — here is the summary.

Weeks 4 and 3 (28 to 14 days out): consideration and correction

If you are considering any in-office treatments, book them now. Pico laser, skin boosters, radiofrequency, and microneedling all need time to work and for your skin to recover fully. You do not want to spend Reunion Dinner looking freshly treated. Ask your aesthetics provider about downtime and realistic results within a month. Stacking treatments at this stage is fine. Leaving them any later is not.

Week 2 (14 to 7 days out): repair and resilience

The only procedural treatment still worth booking at this point is neurotoxins such as Botox, which take around two weeks to show full results. Everything else from here is about the home routine. The focus shifts to barrier repair, hydration, and inflammation control. Ceramides, panthenol, niacinamide, and peptides are the ingredients to prioritise for both face and body. For hair, this is the window to increase use of bond repair treatments like Olaplex or K18. Your skin should feel comfortable and settled by the end of this week, not tight, not reactive. If something is stinging now, it will cause problems when it counts. Pause any new actives, strong exfoliants, or products you have not used before and save them for after the holiday.

Week 1 (7 to 3 days out): refine and brighten

With a stable barrier in place, you can nudge the skin toward glow. One or two applications of a gentle enzymatic exfoliant or PHA is enough to clear the final layer of dead skin without disrupting what you have built. Hydrating toners and essences are the priority now. For hair, this is the right time for a salon appointment: root touch-ups, keratin treatments, or a perm refresh. Lashes, nails, and waxing also belong in this window rather than the final 48 hours, where the risk of irritation and delayed appointments is higher.

Final 72 hours: maintain and protect

No new products. No last-minute treatments. No panic purchases. Consistency at this stage will always outperform novelty, even if your skin is not behaving exactly as you had hoped. Focus on hydration: for your face, nothing tightening or stripping; for your hair, a light oil or silicone to protect shine between washes. Sleep properly, drink water, and be mindful of excess sodium if you want to avoid waking up puffy on the day. The preparation is already done.
